【Fireworks ignite double celebrations】32nd Macao International Fireworks Display Contest commences today (14 September)

Organized by Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), the 32ndMacao International Fireworks Display Contest (“the Contest”) officially commences tonight (14 September) in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao SAR. Canada and Thailand companies took the stage to present the first two mesmerizing feasts for the eyes. The iconic parallel activity Fireworks Carnival welcomes the public every fireworks evening to elevate the vibrant vibes, expanding the synergy of “tourism + events” together with the concurrent online game. Fueled by a multichannel promotional campaign, the Contest boosts the flow of people and stimulates the nighttime economy.



Eligibility review underway for the sole nominated individual in Chief Executive election

The Electoral Affairs Commission for the Chief Executive Election is currently conducting an eligibility review of the only application received for becoming a candidate for the post of Chief Executive, following the close of the nomination period on Thursday (12 September).

The quarterfinals of WTT Champions Macao 2024 presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group, organized by the Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, World Table Tennis (WTT) and Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG), and co-organized by the Macau Table Tennis General Association, took place today (13 September) at the Macao East Asian Games Dome.


Performance to Celebrate the National Day and the Haojiang Moonlight Night – Dance Drama “Wing Chun” to be staged tomorrow also

In order to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival and the National Day with the public, the “Performance to Celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the National Day of the People’s Republic of China and the Haojiang Moonlight Night” – Dance Drama “Wing Chun” was held today. The second presentation of the performance will be held tomorrow (14 September), at 8pm, at the Macao Cultural Centre Grand Auditorium. Limited tickets are still available and the public is advised to purchase as soon as possible.



Remarkable international collaboration outcomes : Five achievements were announced at the Global Legal & Sustainable Timber Forum 2024

The Global Legal & Sustainable Timber Forum 2024 (GLSTF 2024) came to a successful conclusion today (12 September). Featuring a forum, four specialised sub-forums, and a number of side events and business matching sessions, the two-day event attracted 800 guests from over 40 countries and regions. Two research outcomes and three action plans for multinational collaboration were announced during the forum, promoting international co-operation in legal and sustainable timber supply chains.
