Cultural Affairs Bureau successfully holds four lectures of “The Belt and Road Cultural Talk Series”

The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) successfully organised this year four lectures integrated in “The Belt and Road Cultural Talk Series – Collections of Mural Paintings”, from August to September. Four experts and scholars introduced the mural art and cultural allure of Dunhuang, the Ancient Egypt, Russia and Sogdiana, unveiled mysteries and invaluable history, allowing participants to gain a deeper understanding of the cultural connotations of the “Belt and Road” countries.


Macao International Music Festival offers community activities with prizes Additional tickets for jazz concert

Themed “And the Stars Shine”, the 36th Macao International Music Festival, organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from its Portuguese acronym), will be held from 4 October to 4 November. The community activities “And the Stars Shine” are specially launched at this year’s Festival, with installations set up at various locations between 11 September and 6 October. Residents and tourists who complete check-in tasks at the designated locations during specific dates and times will stand a chance to win fabulous prizes and enjoy a 30% flash-sale discount on tickets for the programmes of the Festival. As the concert Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis received an enthusiastic response from the public since the first day of ticket sales, tickets for some additional seats will be on sale on 11 September. The public is advised to purchase tickets as soon as possible.

The Ministry of Education’s 2024 “Hong Kong, Macao, and Mainland China School Exchange Program - University Student Project” - “Art Village Construction: Beyond Concepts - Yaoli Village Non-Fiction Creative Workshop” was held in Yaoli Village, Nanxun District, Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province. 30 students from Macao Polytechnic University (MPU), Peking University, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong ventured into rural areas to explore practical creative project planning and operations, using creative management, artistic empowerment, and lifestyle aesthetics to support local rural revitalisation efforts.

The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) presentedSlava’s Snowshowfrom 6 to 8 September at the Macao Cultural Centre and it was well received by the local ticket buyers. For an audience building purpose, people from various local non-profit associations and charities were invited to a charity session having enjoyed a night of world class live theatre.

WTT Champions Macao 2024 presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group, organized by the Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, World Table Tennis (WTT) and Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG), and co-organized by the Macau Table Tennis General Association, will be held at the Macao East Asian Games Dome from 9 to 15 September 2024. The draw ceremony was held today (7 September) by the organizers and attended by Andrew Vong, Acting Head of the Macau Grand Prix and Major Sporting Events Department of the Sports Bureau; Carol Tai, Vice President of External Affairs of GEG; Hoi Kong Hong, President of the Macau Table Tennis General Association; players Zhu Yuling from Macao, China and Benedikt Duda from Germany.
