The selection of Macao film projects for the 2018 Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Film Production Investment and Trade Fair (hereinafter designated “Fair”) was completed. Six applications were selected and the selected applicants are: Vong Tin Leong, Lim Mi Mi, Hoi Kuok Meng, Ye Ting Hang, Lou Ka Hou, and Io Lou Ian. The applicants of the selected film projects will be invited to attend the Fair on 4 and 5 September in Macao, where they will be able to meet with film investors and producers from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, promote the selected film products and seek opportunities for cooperation.
To further expand communication channels for local filmmakers and producers and to explore potential Macao film projects, the Cultural Affairs Bureau called for submissions of Macao film projects for the Fair. The adjudication panel selected the film projects based on the creativity of the story, experience and execution ability of the applicant, the executive producer and the production company as well as the budgeting rationale. The members of the adjudication panel included the Secretary-general of the Guangdong Motion Picture Industry Association, Zheng Dawei; film director, Samson Chiu and film programmer, Rita Wong.
The Fair is co-organised by theCultural Affairs Bureau, Create Hong Kong, and the Guangdong Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television since 2014. It aims to provide a high-level and convenient communication platform for film investors and producers from the three regions. It not only helps to build a channel for film investment and co-operation, but also cultivates filmmaking talents and promotes the film industry in the three regions.
