Macao 2018 – 35th Asian International Stamp Exhibition Press Conference and Media Guided Tour


“Macao 2018 – 35th Asian International Stamp Exhibition” (hereinafter referred to as "Macao 2018") press conference was held on 20th September at the Venetian Macao Cotai Expo Hall A. After the press conference, Macao media visited different exhibition areas led by Lau Wai Meng, Director of Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau. CTT hoped to promote the development of Macao MICE Tourism and the inheritance of philatelic culture will be carried forward through “Macao 2018”.

There are philatelists from 23 countries and regions competing for the nine stamps competitive awards and its exhibition scale up to 1000 frames. A total of 42 booths were set up for overseas postal administrations, stamp dealers and local cultural and creative industries. At the same time, guided tours were arranged for 1700 people from 22 local schools and associations.

The four-day exhibition is divided into Postal Savings Day, Stamps Day, Letter Writing Day and Festive Day according to the theme, and commemorative envelopes will be distributed for free according to different theme days. New stamps “Macao 2018 (II)”, “Macao 2018 (III)” and thematic pack will be issued during the Stamp Exhibition. The Venetian temporary postmark will be available at the exhibition hall as well.

There are Exhibition Area, Treasure Gallery, Pillar Boxes, Sales Booths, Sales Booths of Macao Cultural & Creative Industries, Macao Post & Telecommunications Bureau Booth, Postal Savings Booth, DIY Postcard Vending Machine, Mailing Preparation Area for the Public, Stamp Vending Machines etc. in “Macao 2018”. Eight precious postal treasures lent by China National Post and Postage Stamp Museum will be exhibited in the high-profile Treasure Gallery, which will be opened to public after the opening ceremony (on 21st).

After the press conference, Lau Wai Meng, Director of Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau, guided the Macao media to different exhibition areas and introduced the new DIY postcard vending machine and stamp vending machine.
