Faculty members and students from the University of Macau (UM) Faculty of Science and Technology recently attended seminars organised by the Land, Public Works and Transport Bureau (DSSOPT). The seminars aimed to enhance students’ understanding of the bureau’s main responsibilities as well as professional certification examinations in engineering in Macao.
Led by UM faculty members, 80 students from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and the Department of Electromechanical Engineering attended various seminars at DSSOPT. During the seminars, speakers from DSSOPT provided information on the recognition and registration processes in different professional fields, including urban planning, civil engineering, electrical engineering, and electromechanical engineering. They also shared the latest information on various industries, including architecture, civil engineering, and electromechanical engineering for public and private construction projects.
Some students say that through the seminars they have gained a comprehensive understanding of the responsibilities of DSSOPT as well as professional certification examinations for university graduates. Faculty members in the UM delegation included FST Associate Deans Wong Pak Kin and Tam Kam Weng, associate professors Kwok Chi Tat and Choi Wai Wa, as well as assistant professor Wong Chi Kong.
