Goal The development of the past and the current situation in Macao. The historical, cultural and geomorphological changes of Macao. The diversity of Macao’s natural and human environment. Development plans of Macao.
Message Session 1: 1. To know the origins of Macao, in the context of the Ming Dynasty and the Age of Portuguese Discoveries. 2. To become familiar with the role and influence of institutions in the urban and architectural development of Macao from the 16th to the 20th centuries. 3. To recognize the Chinese and Portuguese urban developments in Macao and the cultural and historical value of the different architectural typologies. Session 2: 4. To know the content of the designation of the Historic Center of Macau as part of the World Heritage legacy. 5. Learn through case study analysis of heritage protection and adaptive reuse of heritage building in Macao, HK and mainland China. 6. Creative industries, the potential of Macao. Session 3: 7. Promote the analysis and planning of transport and tourism planning capacity. Cultural mapping of tourist areas. 8. Current challenges for Macao Development. 9. To know the projects for Macao future and integration in the Pearl River Delta and Greater Bay Area.
