Goal The module enhances participants’ competence in teaching, supporting and managing learners with diversified needs. Ways and strategies in which classroom teachers can cater for the wide ability range of students in the inclusive setting as well as successful practices in relation to the contextual development in inclusion will be examined.
Message Topics include the followings: 1. Concepts and development of Inclusive Education; Special education law, policy and practice in Macau 2. Understanding and teaching students with Pervasive Developmental Disorder (including Autism / Asperger Syndrome) 3. Understanding and teaching students with Giftedness 4. Understanding and teaching students with sensory impairments 5. Understanding and teaching students with specific learning disabilities 6. Understanding and teaching students with physical disabilities and limited intelligence 7. Understanding and teaching students with Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder and Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties 8. Teaching strategies and behaviour management 9. Curriculum adaptation and IEP for SEN students 10. Working with Parents and Professionals 11. Visit in Hong Kong 2. Assessment: Group project on case analysis, written assignment
