Consumer Council launched SMS service for consumers checking case status


To facilitate the development of electronic governance of the SAR Government, the Consumer Council launched a new SMS reminder service for consumers in April, the SMS reminds the complainant to check notifications sent out by the Council to enhance efficiency of the case handling process and quality of service provided to consumers.

The Council handles cases in accordance with its performance pledge, updates on the case status, replies from shops, etc. are sent to consumers through letters or e-mails, the newly launched SMS service will reminder consumers about the notifications mentioned above. Consumers may make response or contact the Council when necessary. Consumers are also able to check the status of their cases through the “Track status of complaints” on the Council’s website (www.consumer.gov.mo).

A number of electronic services have been launched by the Council since 2016, including “Track status of complaints”, “Arbitration case enquiry”, and the new SMS reminder service launched last month. The Council hopes to improve quality of electronic services for the convenience of consumers when using services of the Council, and assist consumers to resolve disputes faster in order to enhance efficiency of its services.
