The second review of the “2018 Subsidy Programme for the Production of Original Song Albums”, organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), was completed and a total of eight entrants were selected as eligible candidates of the Programme. Each eligible candidate will receive a subsidy of up to MOP150,000 granted by IC and guidance from members of the adjudicating panel, in order to commence the production of the selected original song albums.

Launched by IC in 2014, the subsidy programme seeks to cultivate more local talented music composers and producers, thereby promoting the development of Macao’s music industry. By supporting the production and promotion of the original song albums, IC hopes to encourage musicians to produce and release more outstanding works and lay the groundwork for market development.

A total of 24 applications were received this year. Following the initial and second reviews, the professional adjudicating panel selected eight eligible candidates as follows (in arbitrary order): Chan, José Manuel Yen Lam, Lam Wai Hong, Ho Ka Meng, Ho Io Kuan, Ung Kuoc Iang, Wong Hin Cheng, Pun Kuan Pou and Sou Io Kuong.

The adjudicating panel included Hong Kong music supervisor, Schumann; Hong Kong music supervisor and composer, Ronald Ng; Hong Kong lyricist, Chan Wing Him; Taiwan music producer and arranger, Howe Chen and supervisor of Taiwan “StreetVoice” music channel, Chen Hung Shu. For enquiries about the results of the second review, please contact IC staff members, Ms. Chong or Mr. Lo, through tel. no. (853) 8399 6265 during office hours.
