A soundwalk with light in the city at night

Nightwalk: Pourquoi?, a theatre performance of sound, light and shadow, uses a soundwalk recording as the main material. Surrounded by multiple soundtracks playing around, audience will listen to the walker’s inner thoughts and past soundscape. The sounds, sometimes constructing the external environment of the protagonist while sometimes reflecting a scenery in the protagonist’s heart, will guide audience into the circulating consciousness.

The Taiwanese duo, object theatre artist Yenting Tseng (aka Kappa) and sound artist Tao Chiang, has extensive international experience creating and performing as artist-in-residence. Kappa’s use of non-theatrical lighting equipment to make “light” the medium of storytelling, her unique aesthetics and applications of puppet and object, together with the soundscape by Tao Chiang, create a special dimension of light, sound and object for audience to feel art in an alternative dimension.
