According to SMG predictions, the temperature will drop down during Chinese New Year. When the temperature drops to or below 12 Celsius degrees in Macau, the Social Welfare Bureau thus opens the Emergency Shelter at Rua de Asilo Ilha Verde to the public until the weather turns warm. The shelter offers linens, food and drink for its users.
The Social Welfare Bureau calls upon the public to pay attention to the physical condition of the elderly living under the same roof or alone, the chronically ill and the infirm and cold-proof measures should be taken to prevent hypothermia.
