The Tourism Crisis Management Office (GGCT) is paying close attention to the possibility of a Macao resident having manifested symptoms compatible with the Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia on a cruise in Italy.

The Tourism Crisis Management Office (GGCT) is paying close attention to the situation caused by the suspicion that a Macao resident may have manifested symptoms compatible with the Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia on a cruise in Italy. In reference to this situation GGCT has received a request for assistance through the Global Emergency Call Center for Consular Protection and Services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs 12308 Hotline.

The GGCT is currently in contact with the Embassy of China in Italy through the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in Macao in order to obtain more information and verify the identity of the person in question.
From the information gathered through the Macao travel industry, the person in question has tested negative and preliminary results show that she has not been infected with the Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia.

The GGCT will keep monitoring the latest developments of the situation.
