The ninth case involved a 29-year-old female who is a local resident. According to preliminary investigation, the patient had, on 24 January, stayed for four hours at the house of the person that has been confirmed as the city’s eighth patient with coronavirus infection. The ninth patient had on 25 January developed symptoms including a running nose, cough and fever. Those symptoms later disappeared.

The ninth patient was advised by the Health Bureau on 3 February to take further tests, based on the epidemical investigation of the eighth patient. The 29-year-old subsequently tested positive for the novel coronavirus. She is now in a moderate condition and has been placed in isolation for treatment.
