The DSEJ Sets up the “Walking Together during the Epidemic, Staying Calm and Fearless” Student Counselling Service Webpage

To care about students’ mental health during the epidemic, the DSEJ sets up the “walking together during the epidemic, staying calm and fearless” student counselling service webpage. The webpage aims to provide information about counselling service for all students and parents in Macao, including tips on counselling, support hotlines of the 9 student counselling service institutions and other related information. Please log in to the DSEJ’s website for relevant information. (http://www.dsej.gov.mo/)

In addition to setting up the above-mentioned webpage, the DSEJ has also established student counselling hotlines in collaboration with the 9 funded student counselling institutions, thus providing emotional support and psychological counselling service to students and parents in need of such service during the school and classes suspension period. Besides, the DSEJ also requests the institutions to flexibly deal with the temporary arrangements, such as asking each student counsellor to perform emergency duties on a rotational basis, work at home, provide network and hotline support service, and so on. The related institutions should avoid a cluster of student counsellors working or having a meeting together.

The DSEJ again strongly urges teachers and students to quarantine themselves at home;

unless it is necessary, they should neither go out nor gather together. Besides, students are encouraged to maintain a good lifestyle and a positive attitude towards life so as to improve their immunity and maintain their physical and mental health.
