According to the Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao), among the old-age pension and disability pension beneficiaries who are required to provide the proof of life this year, about 120,000 beneficiaries (accounting for 95% of the total) have already provided the proof of life, and beneficiaries who have not yet provided the proof must go through the formalities by the end of March, otherwise the related pension payment will be suspended from April.
According to the law, old-age and disability pension beneficiaries must provide the proof of life every year, otherwise it may result in the pension payment being suspended. Therefore, beneficiaries who have not provided the proof of life this year should bring their Macao SAR Resident ID cards and provide the proof of life at self-service machines located at more than 50 locations across the city. If beneficiaries want to provide the proof of life at FSS temporary office at Tap Seac, Macao Government Services Centre at Areia Preta (Area of Social Security Affairs), or Macao Government Services Centre in Islands (Area of Social Security Affairs), they are advised to make an appointment in advance using their “Conta Única de Acesso Comum” accounts so as to avoid crowd gathering.
In addition, beneficiaries residing in Macao but unable to complete the relevant procedures in person due to illness or reduced mobility may submit, by mail or through a representative, the proof issued in 2020 by a hospital or a local elderly home, or a medical certificate issued by a registered doctor of Macao proving that the doctor has provided medical consultation to the beneficiary in 2020.
For beneficiaries residing outside Macao, they may submit the required documents to Macao Social Security Fund by mail or through a representative. A beneficiary residing in Guangdong Province can visit a social insurance agency at all levels in the province and present a valid Macao SAR resident ID card in order to provide the proof of life. The relevant information will be passed directly to the FSS by the local agency, and the beneficiary is not required to submit the documents by themselves.
