IPIM Successfully Held Three Webinars SMEs Are Looking Forward to More Similar Events

Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) in co-operation with Macao Young Entrepreneur Incubation Centre, Macao Cross-Border E-Commerce Industry Association, the Industry and Commerce Association of Macao and Macau Youth Entrepreneur Association, successfully held three webinars themed “SME Special Webinars”. The event was well-received and attracted over 430 participants from small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and from the industry. Some participants expressed the hope that more similar webinars regarding SMEs would be held in the future to share industry updates and business knowledge.

The webinars were held respectively on17th, 24th June and 1st July. Through online interaction, the guest speakers from co-organisers/associations shared information in different business areas and presented participants with cutting-edge developments in different industries, which helped SMEs to better plan and adjust their development strategies.

Director of the Industry and Commerce Association of Macao Ng Wah Wai shared in the first webinar how Macao's traditional family-owned businesses adapt to latest trends and reform their management strategies, and improve their core competitive advantages to seize the development opportunities of Macao in the next 10 years.

In the second webinar, Council member of Macau Youth Entrepreneur Association James Luo shared his insights into digital brand marketing, explaining how businesses sort out staged approach for their brand development, and how to make good use of big data technology to create powerful marketing benefits and illustrating the importance of sustainable brand profitability.

Lao Mei Cheong, Council member of Macao Cross-Border E-Commerce Industry Association, shared in the third webinar the application of digital transformation of practical tools, explained how to develop a full-chain digital system that supports business operations that fit with the company’s growth, and how to accelerate high-quality business development with cost-efficient methods; in the same section, Choi Siu Tong, Deputy Secretary of the association shared how cross-border e-commerce platform projects effectively help Macao enterprises enter large-scale e-commerce platforms in Mainland China at a low threshold and cultivate their ability to operate e-commerce independently.

The webinars were held by IPIM via online meeting platform due to disease control, with technical support provided by the Macao Young Entrepreneur Incubation Centre. The event was well received and actively joined by a number chambers of commerce and associations from multiple sectors. The event combined different resources and platforms to jointly support Macao SMEs to learn from the industry's development pioneers and absorb practical information to master new business trends and seize new opportunities in the new era. In the future, IPIM will continue to organise events related to enterprise development, with a view to helping Macao enterprises to enhance their competitiveness, to grasp business opportunities and expand markets.
