MUR signs contractor LOIs for Lot C Temporary Housing construction work

Macau Urban Renewal Limited (MUR) has signed contractor letter of intents (LOIs) for Lot C Construction of Temporary Housing Units in Areia Preta Lot P with representatives of the two awarded joint ventures separately.

To allow more local construction companies and workers to take part in the project, the construction work on Lot C has been divided into two tenders, namely C1 and C2.

The tender for C1 comprises the construction of two 41-storey-high and two 50-storey-high residential towers of temporary housing units. The construction work of which has been awarded to Ming Shun Construction and Property Investment Limited-Tat Cheong Engineering & Construction Company Limited for 1.9245 billion patacas.

The tender for C2 comprises the construction of two 50-storey-high residential towers of temporary housing units. The construction work for C2 has been awarded to Cheong Kong Construction Company Limited-J&T Construction Company Limited for 1.1126 billion patacas.

Both tenders include the construction of 1-level connected basement.

The tendering process for the whole of Lot P home swap housing units and temporary housing units construction project has been completed. With different construction companies taking part in the project, it is expected that over 3,000 job opportunities would be created. MUR has also specified in related tendering documents that contractors give local workers first priority to recruitment to support local workers’ employment. The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2024.
