MGTO presents “MAK MAK Light Rapid Transit Pass” Visitors can redeem Air Macau boarding pass for special three-day LRT Pass

LRT System offers convenient transportation for visitors during their stay in Macao

Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and Macao Light Rapid Transit Corporation, Limited jointly present the “MAK MAK Light Rapid Transit (LRT) Pass” Scheme starting from 1st August. Visitors arriving in Macao by Air Macau flights can obtain a special LRT Pass at the Macau International Airport by presenting their valid travel document and boarding pass. With the special LRT Pass, visitors can enjoy unlimited rides of the Light Rapid Transit System in Macao for three days. The scheme aims to offer visitors a wider convenient choice of transportation in Macao, to spur spending in local communities for further tourism and economic revival.

Special three-day MAK MAK LRT Pass

“MAK MAK LRT Pass” is a special three-day LRT pass in Macao. “MAK MAK LRT Pass” holders can enter the LRT system by scanning the Pass at entry gates of any of the LRT stations. From the day when the Pass is first scanned, unlimited LRT rides can be enjoyed for three days. The scheme is greatly supported by Air Macau. Visitors can redeem their valid boarding pass indicating NX (Airline code for Air Macau) and MFM (Macau as destination) for a MAK MAK LRT Pass upon arrival in Macao at the following locations in Macau International Airport: Tourist Information counter at the arrival hall (9:00 – 20:00), and ticketing counter of Air Macau at the departure hall (20:00 – 22:00). The special Pass is available for redemption on a first-come, first-served basis.

Redeem within 7 days upon arrival in Macao

Within seven days upon arrival in Macao, every boarding pass can be redeemed only once for one “MAK MAK LRT Pass”, while the name indicated on the boarding pass must coincide with that on the identification document. The “MAK MAK LRT Pass” cannot be exchanged for cash. After three days of use, the Pass can be recharged with money by passengers for multiple use in accord with the current terms and conditions about Macao LRT tickets. The special Pass can be used and recharged for a period of ten years, which can be extended after every recharge.

The Macao Light Rapid Transit System is the first railway transportation system in the city. The service hours are 06:30-23:15 while the frequency of LRT service is every 10 to 15 minutes. At present, the Taipa Line runs about 9.3 km long along a total of 11 stations across main residential areas, Taipa Village and tourist district in Taipa and Cotai District, connecting major ports of entry in Taipa. The LRT System offers residents and visitors public transportation service which is convenient, comfortable, reliable and environmental-friendly in Macao.
