The “2021 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition” (2021MIECF), organised by the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region, concluded on 7 August. During the 2021MIECF, a total of 247 online business matching sessions were held, ten protocols were signed online, more than 400 exhibitors joined the event, and over 750 products were exhibited.
Despite the cancellation of offline activities due to the latest COVID-19 developments, a series of online events, including online business matching, online protocol signing, online green mobility promotion, and online exhibition, were staged, helping companies from Macao, Mainland China, Portuguese-speaking countries, and the rest of the world seize green business opportunities.
Participating trade visitors were satisfied with the online activities which enabled them to seek potential business partners, enhance interaction and communication, and align with green trends. These activities echoed the theme “Towards a Green and Low Carbon New Era” and highlighted the MIECF’s role as an international green platform.
Online negotiations enabled companies to seek business opportunities despite time and geographical limits
Online business matching provides companies with a platform to promote their products and services, and answer buyers’ questions immediately to facilitate business and trade co-operation. The online business matching service was available before the 2021MIECF opened, lasting for 14 days from 25 July to 7 August. A total of 247 online business matching sessions were held, covering areas such as electric vehicles and related supporting equipment, eco-friendly tableware, degradable technologies, eco-friendly services, and green construction materials.
The 2021MIECF received ten protocols online seeking to jointly organise international meetings on environmental protection, collaborate in the development of the eco-friendly tableware market, procure eco-friendly products, and promote exchanges and co-operation in the environmental sector.
The online exhibition newly available this year was attended by more than 400 exhibitors from Mainland China, Belgium, Brazil, Portugal, Hong Kong and Macao, presenting over 750 exhibits in the fields of electric vehicles and related supporting equipment, eco-friendly tableware, green construction materials, waste disposal solutions, and waste incineration, among others.
Green mobility online promotion strengthened the co-operation and exchanges on environmental protection between governments and industries
The “Government Guided Tour” set to take place offline during the 2021MIECF was replaced by the “Green Mobility Online Promotion”, attended by government representatives, during which 14 exhibitors presented their electric vehicles and related supporting services. A total of 86 government representatives and exhibitors took part in the activity online.
