【DST】NAT requirement extended to 7 days for Mainland visitors via airport

Effective from 0:00 on 1 September, individuals entering Macao from Mainland cities via the Macau International Airport must present valid proof of their negative result of a COVID-19 nucleic acid test with samples taken within an extended span of seven days, prior to boarding.

MGTO is making vigorous promotional efforts in showcasing Macao as a safe and quality destination and spotlighting travel information, special offers and more among visitors to welcome them for a wonderful journey.

Six flights arrived in Macao yesterday

Tourism Mascot MAK MAK warmly welcomed visitors

A total of six passenger flights arrived in Macao from the Mainland yesterday (1 September). To highlight Macao as a safe and quality destination among travelers, Macao Tourism Mascot MAK MAK showed up at the Macau International Airport to welcome visitors upon their arrival.

Staffers distribute Macao travel brochures and offer information about Macao Highlight Tours, “MAK MAK Light Rapid Transit (LRT) Pass” and so forth to visitors at MGTO’s Tourist Information counter at the Macau International Airport, where props with welcome message are held to express warm hospitality to visitors. Visitors arriving in Macao by Air Macau flights can obtain the special LRT Pass by presenting their valid travel document and boarding pass. With the special LRT Pass, visitors can enjoy free rides of the Light Rapid Transit System in Macao for three days. A promotional video is displayed on the counter’s LED screen to publicize the requirement for presenting valid proof of negative result of a COVID-19 nucleic acid test taken within seven days. Visitors are advised to pay close attention to the specific requirements for entry to certain Mainland cities at the same time.

According to the information provided by the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre, as of 30 August, there has been no community spread of COVID-19 in Macao. After 492 consecutive days without any COVID-19 cases related to imported cases in Macao, four new imported or relevant cases were confirmed on 3 August and since then, as of 30 August, the city has not reported any imported or relevant cases for 27 consecutive days.

The Office has been spotlighting Macao as a safe and quality destination among Mainland residents via its official accounts on WeChat, Weibo, Xiaohongshu and Douyin in recent days, besides unfolding various promotional initiatives that include special travel offers such as hotel and air ticket coupons, which garnered enthusiastic feedback from netizens who expressed their anticipation of visiting Macao.
