IPIM organises Macao enterprises to participate in the “Macao Week in Sichuan·Chengdu” mega road show

The “Macao Week in Sichuan·Chengdu” mega roadshow will be staged at Jiaozi Plaza from 23 (tomorrow) to 27 September. The Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) has organised 35 Macao enterprises to participate in the event and will hold presentation seminars and business matching sessions in the hope of helping enterprises explore business opportunities by integrating the tourism, MICE, business and trade resources of both regions and giving full play to Macao’s role as a platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries. IPIM also strives to promote Macao as a safe and healthy destination for travelling and conducting business, attracting more mainland visitors to Macao to stimulate the local economy.

Macao enterprises that participate in the event will promote “Made in Macao” products, Macao brands as well as products from Portuguese-speaking countries introduced by Macao agents, which cover food souvenirs, liquor, garments, wine, canned food, coffee and natural essential oils.

Exhibition area upgraded with signature products of eight Portuguese-speaking countries

The “Macao Week in Sichuan·Chengdu” is the fifth pole in the event series following Beijing, Hangzhou, Jiangsu and Shanghai. In order to portray the diverse glamour of Macao to local participants, IPIM will set up the “MinM, Macao Brands and Portuguese-speaking Countries Products Sale Zone”, “MinM and Macao Brands Exhibition Zone” and “Portuguese-speaking Countries Exhibition Zone” to introduce the features of Macao’s and Portuguese-speaking countries’ products, as well as the advantages of conducting business in Macao.

For the “MinM and Macao Brands Exhibition Zone”, IPIM will intensify the efforts in promoting products certified by the “Macao Product Quality Certification Scheme” (M-Mark). The “Portuguese-speaking Countries Exhibition Zone” will be upgraded with the addition of signature products from eight Portuguese-speaking countries, including handicrafts, food and coffee, in an effort to deepen local participants’ knowledge of the products and highlight Macao’s function as an Economic and Trade Co-operation Service Platform between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries.

Discount coupons in “blind boxes” at the tasting area; diverse Portuguese elements to be presented

A tasting area will be set up at the venue to provide free food and drink samples and where discount coupons will be offered in the form of blind boxes. The initiative will provide a platform for exhibitors to interact with participants and promote their products, thereby deepening participants’ understanding of the products while demonstrating the connotations of Macao enterprises’ stories, which are expected to stimulate consumption at the exhibition zones.

During the roadshow, performances of Patuá songs will also be staged. The four mascots of “Let’s Hang Out” will be present for participants to take photos with, a “popular slang wall” will be set up to display the Chinese and Portuguese versions of popular slang used in the mainland and enrich the event with Portuguese flavour. Moreover, four “Let’s Hang Out interactive photo-taking spots” will be set up to spice up the atmosphere.

IPIM will set up exhibition booths at the site to provide information on the Guangdong-Macao Intensive Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, the “One-stop Service” for MICE Bidding and Support, as well as the Investor’s “One-stop Service”.
