One import-related case (the 68th case) detected; More areas classified as Yellow Code Zone

The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre (hereinafter referred to as “the Centre”) stated that Macao has seen one import-related new COVID-19 case today (28 September), who was detected during the isolation period. In order to strengthen prevention, a new Yellow Code Zone has been set up accordingly in line with the zone-specific, multi-level targeted approach to epidemic prevention and control.

The Yellow Code Zone associated with this case covers the following areas: Rua do Visconde Paço de Arcos nos. 329, 333, 337, 343; Rua de Cinco de Outubro no. 16-16A, Edificio Kam Lei, no.18-18 A, Edifício Son Hung, no. 20-20 A, Edificio Lei Pak; Rua Cinco de Outubro no.22 and Travessa dos Colonos no. 1A-1C, Edficio Kam Long. Individuals in these areas will see their Health Code turn yellow and be subject to immediate nucleic acid testing on the scene. The first test will be completed within 24 hours, and additional tests may be required if necessary. Individuals are not permitted to leave the zone until completion of the first test. Other restrictive measures include border exit restriction, and close health monitoring with self-health management for at least 14 days.

The Centre indicated that, under the zone-specific, multi-level targeted approach to epidemic prevention and control, the daily living needs of people in the said areas will be followed up by the Subsistence Team, while food and daily consumables will be provided to them by the designated authorities. Senior citizens living alone, persons with difficulties or those in need of psychological or mental assistance may call the Social Welfare Bureau hotline 28261126 for assistance.

The 68th case was sent to medical observation at a designated hotel directly from the workplace on 25 September, without returning to the place of residence after 24 September. The patient tested positive today (28 September) following negative results on 17, 24 and 25 September. At present, the patient does not have any symptoms or discomfort, and has been admitted to the Public Health Clinical Centre for follow-up.
