Special Authorization to Stay for Other People

Introduction

Service Coverage

The following non-residents may apply to the Stay Subdivision of the Residence and Stay Affairs Department for Special Authorization to Stay:

1. Providing services to a public entity of the Macao Special Administrative Region within the scope of activities collaborated with national public entities or those of other countries or regions according to Item 2, Term 1, Article 32 of Law No. 16/2021 and Article 25 of Administrative Regulation No. 38/2021;
2. Performing duties at the Macao Special Administrative Region as a representative of any other country or region in a delegation of an international or interregional organization or in an intergovernmental or interregional commission or any other cooperative entity according to Item 3, Term 1, Article 32 of Law No. 16/2021 and Article 27 of Administrative Region No. 38/2021.

      Persons whose Special Authorization to Stay has a shorter validity than the duration of stay for the collaborated activity or the duration of duty in Macao owing to the inadequate validity of the passport or travel document

      Persons granted the above Special Authorization to Stay
2. Application Eligibility
   1. Meeting the stipulations relevant to the Legal Regime of Immigration Control, Stay and Residence Authorization of the Macao Special Administrative Region (e.g. 1. in possession of a statutory valid passport/travel document/identification document for entry to and departure from Macao; and 2. not in a lawfully restricted status.)
   2. Non-residents in possession of the following documents:
      1. A certificate issued by the cooperative public entity of the Macao Special Administrative Region (containing full identification information of the interested person and the expected duration of stay for the collaborated activity, as well as the facts that may cause the extinguishment of the authorization);
      2. A certificate of appointment, including the duration of duty, to perform duties at the Macao Special Administrative Region as a representative of any other country or region in a delegation of an international or interregional organization or in an intergovernmental or interregional commission or any other cooperative entity.
