The tyres throw up waves from the 19th century, and sand barges carry the imagination of a coast from the 21st century. Step forward, look, listen, and wander around the old dock which is named after a king, and whose historical mark connects imagination and desire.

Over the years, based on field researches, local chronicles, oral history and other elements, Step Out has created theatre productions which integrate urban space and heritage buildings to explore urban development and regional history. Drawing inspiration from the old D. Carlos I Dock, Carlos I develops a technical theatre production rarely seen in Macao in which there are no actors, but only lighting, sound and space installations to spark the imagination of the audience.

Come and walk with us in the old dock to think about the past and look ahead to the future. Congratulations! You have passed the synaesthesia test.
