Cancellation of 48-hour NAT rule for construction workers and casino employees

The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre indicates that, having regard to the multitude of construction workers and casino employees, undergoing nucleic acid testing every two days – despite its benefit of lowering the transmission risk in workplaces – can cause crowd gathering at sampling stations, which is not conducive to epidemic prevention and control.

Combining the recent results of citywide NAT and rapid antigen testing, after consulting relevant departments, it is determined that the requirement for the captioned occupations to present proof of negative NAT result within 48 hours before going to work shall be lifted; however, they are still required to carry out a rapid antigen test and declare the result truthfully to the reporting platform via the Macao Health Code before entering the workplaces.

Relevant supervisory entities shall establish a supervising mechanism, and cooperate with the anti-epidemic guidelines and measures of the MSAR Government.
