Adjustment to testing requirement starting midnight of 29 April for individuals with Taiwan or international travel/residence history to leave Macao for Mainland China


The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre announces adjustment to quarantine requirements starting 00:00 on 29 April for individuals with Taiwan or international travel/residence history to leave Macao for Mainland China. Details are as follows:

  • Persons aged above 3 years who have travelled to or resided in Taiwan region or a foreign country within the past 7 days must present proof of negative antigen/nucleic acid test within 48 hours when entering Mainland China via Macao for the first time.

Meanwhile, the following quarantine requirements for the aforesaid persons remain unchanged:

  • Within 7 days from the next day of arrival in Macao, it is required to go through the special manual inspection channels and it is not allowed to take the vehicle channels (except for the driver) when leaving Macao for Mainland China;
  • Passengers who directly transit (without entering the Macao SAR) to Mainland China must present the corresponding proof of negative COVID-19 test (antigen test or nucleic acid test) as applicable when they take a flight to the Macao SAR or transit at the Macau International Airport. The airline or airport management is responsible for the implementation of this measure;
  • Passengers leaving for the Hong Kong SAR, Taiwan region or abroad via the Macau International Airport or ferry terminals must present their boarding pass or ferry ticket;
  • All children aged 3 years or under, and all persons who can present a valid aircrew identification card, are exempted from the quarantine requirement to present proof of negative COVID-19 test for departure or transit.

To declare a rapid antigen test result or check the nucleic acid test result, please visit https://app.ssm.gov.mo/generalrat. Latest NAT result will be available by clicking “Check the latest NAT record over the past 14 days” on the platform and entering the personal information and verification code as required.
