Application procedure

Time constraint

  • If the flying activities include performing an organized release of balloons or UAVs: applicant shall file in the application with the Civil Aviation Authority 10 days in advance;
  • For other activities: applicant shall make an inquiry to the Civil Aviation Authority for the application period.

Application procedure and required documents:

  • If the flying activities include release of balloons, applicant shall file in the application; (application form can be downloaded from AACM homepage);
  • If the flying activities include operation of UAVs with total mass exceeding 250grams, notification must be submitted to the Civil Aviation Authority prior to flight through the “Online application for unmanned aircraft activities” electronic platform, https://uav.aacm.gov.mo;
  • If the flying activities will go beyond the restrictions established on paragraph 184 of the Air Navigation Regulation of Macao, application for activity permit must be submitted to the Civil Aviation Authority prior to flight through the “Online application for unmanned aircraft activities” electronic platform, https://uav.aacm.gov.mo;
  • If the flying activities include operation of UAVs with total mass exceeding 7 kg but not exceeding 25 kg, application for UA operator permit must be submitted to the Civil Aviation Authority in writing. After obtaining UA operator permit as well as the third party insurance with the minimum coverage of MOP10,000,000, application for activity permit must also be submitted to the Civil Aviation Authority prior to flight through the “Online Application for UAV Activity Permit” electronic platform, https://uav.aacm.gov.mo;
  • For other activities, applicant shall submit application letter in writing.

The approval process will not take more than 10 working days to complete (time guaranteed in performance pledge).
Note: The time guaranteed commences from the next day following the day of submission of all documents or information.
