Formalities and Required Documents

Applications can be made through the uploading of the following documents to the “Guangdong-Macao Individual Travel Scheme for Yachts” in the Application System for Entry and Exit of Foreign Pleasure Boats (no English translation), or can be made in person, by fax or email to the Marine and Water Bureau, with the submission of the following:

  1. Application for entry of pleasure yachts (format EER1/DET); (the form can be obtained from the locations for application or downloaded from the website of Marine and Water Bureau)
  2. Valid supporting documents of navigation;
  3. Insurance policy for liability for pleasure boats acquired from approved insurance companies in Macao (if applicable);
  4. Supporting documents of berthing (if applicable).

Notes for Application

Notice for Arrivals

  1. Before a pleasure boat enters waters of Macao, the applicant shall contact the agent of the marina in advance in order to arrange berthing for the vessel;
  2. Once the application is approved by the Bureau, the approval and “Formalities and Required Documents” must be kept on board for inspection, when necessary;
  3. The persons on board shall complete immigration formalities with the Public Security Police Force through the agent of the marina before they disembark.

Notice for navigation

Entry to the exclusive channel of the Macao Outer Harbour and Taipa Ferry Terminals for high speed passenger craft and the maritime exclusion zone of the airport, without authorisation, is prohibited.

Notice for departures

Anyone who leaves Macao on a pleasure boat is required to have completed immigration formalities. The pleasure boat operator (master) is responsible for reminding and ensuring that everyone on board the vessel has done so, otherwise, the persons and the pleasure vessel operator (master) who leave Macao without completing relevant formalities will be held accountable.

  • If the applicants did not apply via the Application System for Entry and Exit of Foreign Pleasure Boats (no English translation), they will be notified of the approval by fax, or by email if no fax number has been provided.
