How to Apply

Time Limit for Application

Applications for renewal of “Operating Licence of Regular Maritime Passenger Transport” should be submitted at least 180 days prior to the expiry date of the respective licence or permit.

Formalities and Required Documents

Application letter for renewal (self-written) should be addressed to the Director of Marine and Water Bureau. It must be signed by a person with binding power over the applicant and his/her identity and signature must be notarised.

Notes: For the complete examination of the application, the applicant must provide clarification or additional documents that are necessary in accordance with the requirements of the Marine and Water Bureau.

Documents required to be processed / applied in advance:

Notarisation of the signature of the person with binding power.

Charges

Application Fees

Fees levied according to the Dispatch of Chief Executive No. 415/2009:

  • Renewal of Licence: MOP 10,000.
  • Renewal of Ferry Route Permit: MOP 10,000 (each route permission).

Notes: By cash, bank draft or certified cheque (Bank draft and certified cheque are payable to the “Direcção dos Serviços de Assuntos Marítimos e de Água”.)


Processing Time

90 days upon receipt of application.

Notes:

  • If the operators are requested for clarifications or additional documents, the period referred in the preceding paragraph shall be counted from the day of submission to the Marine and Water Bureau.
  • For clarification or resubmission of documents: the applicant will be notified within 15 days upon receipt of application. (Performance Pledge)
