Application for Macao SAR Resident Identity Card ( BIR )

Service Introduction

Service Description

First time and renewal application for the Macao SAR Resident Identity Card, personal data alteration, death declaration, verification of kinship, Certificate of Residence for Foreign Use, Certificate of Personal Data, Certificate of Kinship, Certificate of Having No Children in Macao and Certificate of Documents Authentication.

Service Targets and Eligibility

  • First Time Application
  1. Applicant who is under the age of 18, born in Macao and one of his/her parents is a Macao resident at the time of his/her birth;
  2. Holders of One-way Exit Permit issued by the Public Security Authority of Mainland China and the Residence Certificate issued by the Residence and Stay Affairs Department of the Public Security Police Force; *Not applicable to persons whose Macao permanent resident identity have been confirmed. Such applicants can lodge the application for the Macao SAR Resident Identity Card to DSI directly with the notification letter issued by the Residence and Stay Affairs Department of the Public Security Police Force.
  3. Holders of residence authorization documents issued by the Residence and Stay Affairs Department of the Public Security Police Force or the Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (including the Receipt of Residence Authorization and the Residence Certificate);
  4. Holders of Portuguese identity documents and the Residence Certificate issued by the Residence and Stay Affairs Department of the Public Security Police Force;
  5. Holder of the Certificate of Entitlement to the Right of Abode in the Macao SAR.

 

  • Renewal Application
  1. Macao non-permanent resident identity card holders who hold Portuguese identity documents and the Residence Certificate issued by the Residence and Stay Affairs Department of the Public Security Police Force;
  2. Macao non-permanent resident identity card holders who hold the residence authorization documents issued by the Residence and Stay Affairs Department of the Public Security Police Force or the Trade and Investment Promotion Institute;
  3. Macao resident identity card holders whose identity card is expired or going to be expired (Not applicable to persons who have residence authorization restriction);
  4. Macao residents whose identity card is lost
  5. Macao residents whose identity card is damaged (not applicable to chip problem);
  6. Macao residents whose alteration of personal data is approved;
  7. Macao residents who change the status from non-permanent resident to permanent resident;
  8. For holders of permanent resident identity cards who are of foreign nationality, and the time interval between the date of application for ID card renewal and the last issue date of the ID card exceeds 3 years.

 

  • Personal Data Alteration

  • Death Declaration

If Macao SAR Resident Identity Card holders passed away outside Macao, the deceased’s relatives who knew such fact are required to declare the death of the deceased to DSI in person or by mail (mailing address: Macao Postal Box No.1089).

 

  • Verification of Kinship

When a Macao resident identity card holder needs to confirm the relationship with his/her parents, children or spouse,  if information about the relationship between the applicant and the person concerned does not exist in the identity card record of the applicant, the applicant can lodge the application of kinship verification to this bureau in advance of going through other formalities (e.g. transfer of health care vouchers).
