Dance of the ageless

Hong Kong choreographer Andy Lee injects dance into objects within easy reach, activating the concept of “#danceless” through props and games, aiming to remove institutionalised techniques, enabling participants to better know themselves, exploring their own creativity through body movement and expression.

This work is based on simple childhood playground gadgets, from rainbow springs to monkey bars, using different games and tasks to guide the elderly performers to integrate their own experiences and recapture memories of their childhood fun. There will be a screening of a documentary, which captured the physical and mental changes of the performers, revealing how they boldly danced, energetically explored around and questioned themselves in their creative process.
