Service Introduction

Service Description

To issue permits to premises providing healthcare services under the private regime in accordance with the stipulation of Article 1 of Decree-Law no. 84/90/M of 31^st December.

Service Targets

Individuals or legal persons (corporations) who intend to set up a clinic, polyclinic, health station, healthcare centre, diagnostic centre, treatment centre, rehabilitation centre, clinical analysis laboratory and radiology laboratory.

Eligibility

Pursuant to Section 2 of Article 5 of Decree-Law no. 84/90/M of 31^st December , the licensing requirements are:

1. The applicant should reside in Macao or, in the case of a legal person, be based in Macao and established in accordance with law;
2. Under the stipulations prescribed in this Decree-Law, individuals who are responsible for technical instruction duties in the premise, as well as those who wish to provide healthcare services or perform the functions of assistant technician providing healthcare services must register with the Health Bureau;
3. The facilities and equipment in the premise must fulfil the appropriate conditions required for practice, and comply with the rules prescribed by the Health Bureau and the current regulations governing the safety, hygiene and health in industrial premises.

Result of Application

The Health Bureau will issue a permit to the healthcare premises that have satisfied the statutory requirements.
