Tai Kin Ip
Tai Kin Ip, male, married, born in Macao in June 1968 with family roots in Jieyang, Guangdong. He holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from the Catholic University of Portugal and a Master of Government Studies degree from the University of Saint Joseph, Macao (formerly the Macau Inter-University Institute).
He joined the Macao Economic Services (DSE) in October 1995, where he has served as a Senior Officer, Head of Research Department and Deputy Director. He served as Director of the DSE (now known as the Economic and Technological Development Bureau (DSEDT) from April 2016 to December 2024.
During his tenure at the DSE, he served concurrently as Chairman of the Industrial and Commercial Development Fund; Chairman of the Advisory Committees of the SME Aid Scheme, the SME Credit Guarantee Scheme and the Young Entrepreneurs Aid Scheme; standing member of the Investment Committee of the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute; Deputy Coordinator of the Standing Committee for the Coordination of Social Affairs; Leader of the High-Tech Sector Development Policy Research Group of the Economic Development Council; Coordinator of the Task Force on Promotion of Science and Technology Sector and Technology Application and the Task Force on International and Regional Cooperation of the Science and Technology Council; Deputy Coordinator of the Task Force on High-Tech Sector of the Talent Development Committee; and director of World Trade Center Macau, S.A.R.L.. He also participated in several World Trade Organization’s Trade Policy Reviews of Macao, China, and multiple times in the international meetings of, among others, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation.
