To promote appropriate economic diversification of the Macao SAR, and to cooperate with the “Policy Framework for the Development of the Cultural Industry of Macao”, the Macao University of Tourism (UTM) plans to launch three cultural-related and one luxury hospitality and health service management master’s degree programmes in the new academic year of 2025/2026. The new programmes will be in effect after being published in MSAR Gazette.
In order to meet the high local demand for high-quality professionals in the fields of heritage, cultural and creative industries, and luxury hospitality and health service, as well as contributing to the development of these industries, UTM will launch: (i) Master of Philosophy in Cultural Studies (specialisation in Heritage Management), (ii) Master of Science in Cultural and Creative Industries Management, (iii) Master of Science in Heritage Management, and (iv) Master of Science in Luxury Hospitality and Health Service Management.
UTM believes that the new programmes will help promote Macao’s “1+4” economic diversification strategy. Such contribution will strengthen cross-disciplinary collaboration in the concept of "Tourism +" while utilizing the integration of cultural heritage and cultural and creative industry for the sustainable development. It can also promote health tourism and the integration of the application and practices of wellness services in luxury hospitality, which further help Macao build itself into a “World Centre of Tourism and Leisure’.
The application period for UTM master’s programmes is now open until 30 April 2025. UTM provides many scholarships and other grants to eligible students. For more information, please visit the UTM Admission website athttps://www.utm.edu.mo/s/PGadmissions .
