The Chief Executive, Mr Edmund Ho Hau Wah, today described the prospect for further co-operation between Macao and Danang as 'enormous'. Mr Ho was speaking in Danang, an important tourist destination city in Vietnam, during his five-day official visit to the country, when he met with the Chairman of the Danang People's Committee of Vietnam, Mr Tran Van Minh. During the meeting, the Chief Executive welcomed the upcoming visit of the Danang delegation to Macao, at the end of the month, and expressed Macao's intention to boost co-operation with the city. Mr Tran said Danang would like to enhance co-operation with Macao, especially in areas such as tourism, education and trade. Meanwhile, the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau has signed a protocol with the Danang People's Committee to further co-operation and establish friendship with the city. Earlier in the morning, Mr Ho and his delegation toured Halong Bay, a famous scenic tourist attraction of natural beauty, which was inscribed in the World Heritage List in 1994. Mr Ho and his delegation are expected to leave Danang for Ho Chi Minh City tomorrow.
