2008 MIECF continues with overwhelming success and fruitful outcomes

The 2008 MIECF, Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition in its second day (24 Apr) closes with an overwhelming success and fruitful outcomes for both exhibitors, visitors and forum delegates. The exhibition significant success was from its concurrent technical product presentation and business matching services. Indeed, numerous visitors, exhibitors and delegates attended the Products and Services Presentation which included energy saving lighting system, financing environmental projects, recycling of hot water energy in air-conditioning system, perfect partnership and service provider for modern plant and facility management, environment friendly chopsticks and their potential and market development, multi-function exploits and of Flocculant. This resulted in 2008 MIECF witnessing some over 111 business matching meetings to date. Among the strong partnership was a Contract Signing Ceremony between EcoTech Environmental Engineering and Technologies Co. Ltd and Zhuhai Boka Cool Source Equipment Co. Ltd which involved the sales of products and an Agreement Signing Ceremony between Guangdong Shuishenmiao Environment Protective Technology Engineering Co., Ltd. and Formosa Macao Commercial Association of Taiwan which involved pollution of sewage and heavy metal in the soil. Further to this, Letters of Intent were also concluded involving Co-operation and Exchange between Macau Energy Saving Association and Hong Kong Association of Energy Service Companies, and the Study of New Water Purifying Agent between kwan On Chemical Enterprise Co. Ltd. and The Macao Water Supply Co. Ltd. Organized by Macao Environmental Protection Industry Association and supported by the Photography Salon Society of Macao, the award ceremony of “Photography Competition of Macao Environmental Protection Industry” was held today at 2008 MIECF. Winning photos were displayed in front of the exhibition venue with the emphasis on environmental issues and creating awareness for the public through a photo- gallery display during the three-day event. The theme of the selected photos mirrors the environmental protection industry development in Macao, which includes environmental facilities, water resources, green area protection, noises, water and air environment treatment. Through these photos in the competition, the organizer hopes to create more awareness among the people in Macao with regards to the topic of environmental protection. Public are invited to view the winning Photographs tomorrow, last day of the event from 9 am to 6 pm at the Cotai Strip Convention and Exhibition Centre at the Venetian Hotel Macao. Eco-friendly bags will be some of the environmental friendly giveaways at the event. Public can jump onto the free shuttle bus services provided at several designated hotels – Hotel Beverly Plaza, Grand Waldo and Pousada Marina, Infante.
