The Chief Executive, Mr Edmund Ho Hau Wah, is scheduled to attend Expo Central China 2008, in Wuhan, Hubei, on Saturday. Mr Ho would deliver a speech on the Forum on Thousands Investors Going West, which opens on the same day. Members of Mr Ho’s delegation would include the Secretary for Economic and Finance, Mr Francis Tam Pak Yuen, the Chief-of-Cabinet of the Office of the Chief Executive, Mr Ho Veng On, and the Acting President of Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, Mr Cheong Chou Weng. The Expo, with the theme of “Taking Over the Industrial Shifting & Promoting the Rise of Central China”, highlights the regional characteristics of Central China and focuses on fields such as logistics, finance, automobile, tourism, energy saving, environment protection, hi-tech and opto-electronic industries. The Expo is organised by a number of ministries, trade organisations and the six provincial governments of Shanxi, Anhui, Jiangxi, Henan, Hunan and Hubei. The Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute will have a booth at the Expo to promote Macao’s business environment, and has organisesd the attendance of about 100 local entrepreneurs. Mr Ho is to leave for Wuhan tomorrow and return on Saturday. The Secretary for Security, Mr Cheong Kuoc Va, will be Acting Chief Executive while Mr Ho is away.
