Tianjin – Macau Inaugural Flight on March 29


Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Chui Sai On led a tourism delegation to visit Tianjin end of last year. During the official trip, work meetings were held among high officials of Tianjin and Macau. The leaders of the two cities expressed their common wish of the two cities to work closely together and complement each other with their respective advantages. The two parties also talked about the importance and imminence of initiating flight services between Tianjin and Macau to development of to the tourism industry. With the joint effort of the two parties, Xiamen Airlines was awarded to introduce a scheduled service of Tianjin – Hangzhou – Macau end of this January and have chosen March 29 to launch the inaugural flight of Tianjin – Macau. To this end, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Chui Sai On will lead a delegation of representatives from Macau Government Tourist Office, travel trade and media of Macau to participate in the ceremonies held at the Macau International Airport and Tianjin Binhai International Airport for the Tianjin – Macau inaugural flight on March 29. In addition to the inaugural flight ceremony, MGTO will also launch a series of promotional activities in Tianjin including “Experience Macau – Macau Tourism Presentation”, “Experience Macau Dinner Banquet” and “Experience Macau – Photo Exhibition” at Tianjin Museum. Portuguese folk dance troupe from Macau also join the delegation to perform in Tianjin. The promotion campaign in Tianjin not only serves as a cooperation platform for the travel trade of the two cities, but also showcases the uniqueness of Macau’s history and culture as well as the diversity of Macau’s tourism products to the Tianjin citizen who can have a deeper knowledge toward Macau tourism. The Tianjin – Macau flight service will further facilitate the tourism development of the two cities, providing impetus to cooperation of culture, economic and trade as well as convention and exhibition sectors. In addition, MGTO will receive the Tianjin inaugural flight delegation to Macau. The Tianjin delegation will comprise of government officials, tourism stakeholders and media representatives.
