Taipa-Hong Kong ferries to resume services

The Government expects ferry services between Taipa and Hong Kong to soon resume, following a court ruling that rejected an application to suspend the services. A statement released today by the Maritime Administration said the ferry company and staff of the terminal have been notified of the ruling and to prepare for the resumption of services. The present terminal, a temporary facility that caters to passengers traveling between Taipa and Hong Kong, has three berths. It will be replaced by a better-equipped facility next year which will have three berths for ferries carrying up to 1,200 passengers and 16 berths for ferries with a capacity of 400, as well as a heliport.
