Up to 6:00 p.m. of the first day (8 April) of the 2010 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Exhibition and Forum (2010 MIECF) was visited by a total of 1,949 visitors. The Organisers have arranged 151 business matching and negotiation sessions, which resulted in the signing of 15 co-operation projects. Projects signed included the construction of China ASEAN Environmental-Friendly Products International Trade City, in Nanning, Guangxi; general agency of environmental electric vehicles, power system and battery in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan; general agency of energy-saving LED lighting products; co-operation in the development of Macao´s first environmental-friendly integrated cultural and education community centre; general agency of energy-saving lighting system project; development of environmentally-friendly green plants project; development of solar energy and energy-saving lighting projects; agreement to promote projects of low-carbon energy and resource recycles; co-operation contract of investing in the manufacturing of environmental protection electric vehicles; agreement of renewable energy cooperation; electric vehicle recharging and billing system solution; electric vehicle environment impact test project, and technology transfer and research & development of 3rd generation solar energy. Projects signed originated from Macao (56.25%), Mainland China (28.13%%), Hong Kong (6.25%), Brazil (3.13%), Portugal (3.13%) and South Korea (3.13%). Two forums are planned for tomorrow morning, namely “Low-Carbon Building and Eco Building” and “Clean Technology and Circular Economy”. In the afternoon, the “Low-Carbon Economy Forum” and “Seminar for International Green Industry Exchanges” will be held. As far as the exhibition venue is concerned, the total area has been increased by 10% as compared with last year, to 13.465 square metres. New exhibits at this year’s MIECF included 3R Green Management, clean development mechanism, low-carbon technologies and project finance and certification.
