Consumer Council publishes Consumer Report no.243

In its latest issue of Consumer Report no. 243, Consumer Council publishes its assessment results of 'Certified Shops' and a feature on a cross-strait forum on current trend of consumer protection work held earlier by the Council. The annual 'Certified Shops' awarding ceremony was held earlier. Over 1,100 businesses are awarded the 2014 'Certified Shop' emblem and 15 of which are awarded as 'Class A Certified Shops'. Over 90 percent of the shops evaluated passed the standard of the 'Certified Shop' assessment test. The list of 'Class A Certified Shops' is available in the latest issue of Consumer Report. To encourage cooperation and interchange of ideas between consumer organizations across the strait, the Council organized a cross-strait forum on current trend of consumer protection work in December last year. Consumer organizations from China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan gave speeches on topics regarding the development of consumer protection policy in each region. In this issue of Consumer Report, the Council has included the speech of member of the Legislative Assembly and Associate Dean of Faculty of Law of University of Macau, Prof. Tong Io Cheng. The latest issue of Consumer Report also includes news on consumer protection work from mainland China and Taiwan. Consumer Report is now available free of charge at Consumer Council (Av. Horta e Costa, N.º 24-A, Edf. Cheung Heng, R/C), and the service counter of Consumer Council at Macao SAR Government Service Centre (Rua Nova da Areia Preta, Nº52), Public Information Centre at Vicky Plaza, libraries and bookstores.
