21st MACAO INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND INVESTMENT FAIR Activities cancelled due to adverse weather conditions


Subsequent to the contingency plans and measures under tropical cyclone (typhoon) warnings announced by the Macao International Trade and Investment Fair (21st MIF) yesterday (20th), the Macao Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG), has issued the Typhoon Signal No. 8 at 8:30 due to the typhoon affected weather conditions. The MIF host has issued communications to the invited guests and exhibitors from around the world, and suspended the shuttle bus service to the exhibition venue. For shuttle bus services, if SMG removed/changed the Typhoon Warning Signal No.8 before 2.30pm, the shuttle bus service will resume in 1.5 hours thereafter, from the departure points heading towards the MIF venue, and frequency of service may increase depending on the actual situation. The MIF host announces that if the Typhoon Warning Signal No. 8 is removed/changed to a lower warning signal before 2.30pm, MIF exhibition venue will be re-opened two hours thereafter; if the Typhoon Warning Signal No. 8 is removed/changed to a lower warning signal after 2.30pm, the MIF exhibition venue will be closed for the day. For the MIF Forums, if the Typhoon Signal No. 8 is removed/changed before 12 midday, the conference venue of MIF will be re-opened two hours thereafter; however, if Typhoon Signal No.8 is removed/changed after 12 midday, the conference venue of MIF will be closed for the day. For media reporting activities, the “Portugal-Beijing-Macao Trade and Investment Seminar” will be postponed or cancelled, the “Signing Ceremony’ scheduled at 12.30midday on the same day will be postponed to a time to be announced.“China and Portuguese Speaking Countries Economic and Trade Investment and Dispute Resolution Seminar”, and the Seminar on “Portugal, Atlantic platform for the industrial and logistic investment in Europe" will have other arrangements based on the above measures and the corresponding weather conditions. In addition, if SMG removed the Typhoon Warning Signal No.8 before 2.30pm, the shuttle bus service will resume 1.5 hours thereafter, leaving all the departure points towards the MIF venue, and frequencies may be increased depending on the actual situation.
