Six students from the University of Macau (UM) Faculty of Social Sciences recently received four prizes for their academic papers at a local economics paper competition organised by the Macau Economic Association. This is the fifth edition of the competition. This year’s competition received 60 submissions, 40 in the student category and 20 in the open category. The UM students received a third prize in the open category, a third prize in the student category, and two excellence awards. The awarded papers will be published in paper collections or in the association’s publications. Macau Economic Association Chairman Lao Chi Ngai says that the quality of this year’s submissions is higher than that of last year’s.
