The new round of the “Temporary Rehearsal Venue Booking Programme of Tap Seac Square Commercial Centre” of the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) is open for applications from 1 February 2016 (Monday) until 30 June 2016. Local theatre and dance groups are welcome to apply. The R2 and R3 spaces of the Tap Seac Square Commercial Centre (also known as Glass House) remain available as rehearsal spaces for local theatre and dance groups. In response to the needs of rehearsal space of local theatre and dance groups, IC launched the “Temporary Rehearsal Venue Booking Programme of the Tap Seac Square Commercial Centre” from August 2013 to January 2016, providing rehearsal venue to local theatre and dance groups on the ground floor of the Glass House. The Programme attracted approximately 40 local groups since it was launched. The Glass House has also been open for various government departments, schools and civic groups to hold activities and events. The “Venue Booking Programme” will last until 30 June 2016. The Land, Public Works and Transport Bureau (DSSOPT) will start the renovation project afterwards. Currently, DSSOPT is carrying out the tender of the “Renovation Project of the Tap Seac Square Commercial Centre”. The deadline of submission of the tender is 25 February 2016 and the renovation will start in the second half of the year. Aiming to turn the Glass House into a multi-functional, cultural and creative space as originally planned, IC will invite cultural and creative entities to participate in the boosting of the Glass House in order to promote the growth of Macao’s cultural and creative industries. All interested parties may submit the completed application form as well as the required documents to the Department for the Promotion of Cultural and Creative Industries (No. 567, Av. da Praia Grande, Edif. BNU, 12th floor A-D, Macao) from 1 February, during office hours. The application form and details are available on the Macao Cultural and Creative Industries Website (www.macaucci.com).
