“The 8th Macanese Cooking Competition” & “The 5th Young Macanese Cooking Competition” Co-organised by IFT and MCA


Institute for Tourism Studies (IFT) and Macau Culinary Association (MCA) co-organised the 8thMacanese Cooking Competition and the 5th Young Macanese Cooking Competition for universities students on 21 April, 2017 at IFT.

The Young Macanese Cooking Competition is an additional universities tournament, Macauo’s universities students would have the opportunity to explore the culture and history of the local traditional Macanese Cuisine and the event allows culinary exchange between universities students in Macao, thus enables a closer tie among universities in Macao; Young Macanese Cooking Competition participants are required to complete a compulsory dish. The aim of The Young Macanese Cooking Competition is to provide a platform for universities students to share their experience and form a strong bond in the relationship within universities.

The panel of judges for the young group is formed by Mr. Raymond Vong from Henri’s Galley, Chef Elie Khalife -Executive Chef of The 13, Chef Richard Stuart – Assistant Vice President of International Culinary of galaxy Macau, and IFT Lecturer Mr. Miguel Oliveira. The panel of judges for the professional group is formed by Chef Yves Duron-Executive Chef of Grand Lapa Macau, Chef Greg Bunt-Director of Culinary Operation of Wynn Macau, Chef Desmond Hill-Director of Culinary of The 13 and Mr. Perry Yuen-President of Macau Culinary Association. The award ceremony is held in the night of the cooking competition and judges presented the prizes to the winners.
