AACM launches 5 promotional videos to promote aviation regulations and requirements as well as the commercial operations of consumer disputes

The Macao residents and the passengers can view the stories through AACM’s website at www.aacm.gov.mo and AACM’s YouTube Channel (“Macao CAA”).

The Civil Aviation Authority of Macao SAR (AACM) launches five promotional videos today with the objective of using a comprehensible means of communication to educate the Macao residents and the passengers to better understand the information that is most relevant to them, including the aviation regulations and requirements as well as the commercial operations of consumer disputes.

Adopting different platforms to enhance the promotion work has always been a target set forth by AACM. Commencing the fourth quarter of last year, the Authority worked on the production of a number of drama-type videos and eventually selected five themes for the stories, taking into reference the usual types of enquiries and complaints filed by the local residents and the passengers. The Authority aims to use this means to educate the target audience with the information that is most relevant to them such as important issues concerning aviation safety and how the market handles the commercial disputes between the operator and the passengers.

The five videos are named respectively as follows: “Know the laws and regulations to fly the unmanned aircraft in a legal way”, “Follow the rules of the carriage of lithium batteries to travel safely”, “Check in on time for the flight so that you can enjoy fully”, “Everyone gets what he needs in the free market” and “Be a responsible passenger on board the aircraft”. Although these stories have different themes, they are interconnected with each other as they were video-shot according to one story line: a family leaving home for outbound travel, arriving at the airport for check-in procedures and finally boarding the plane. These stories which are produced in dramas aim to explain the legal requirements of unmanned aircraft activities, the requirements of the carriage of lithium batteries on aircraft, the commercial operations of disputes between the operator and the passengers, the pricing of fuel surcharge to be established according to international air transport market practice, and the prohibited behaviours on aircraft and the penalties.

The Macao residents and the passengers can view the five stories through the following platforms:

  • AACM’s website: www.aacm.gov.mo (“Latest News”, “TV Programmes”, “Macao’s aviation”);
  • AACM’s YouTube Channel: search “Macao CAA” on YouTube;
  • Government Information Bureau’s YouTube Channel: http://youtube.com/macaogcs.

The stories are produced in the Chinese language with Chinese, Portuguese and English subtitles.

To extend the platform for viewing, AACM will discuss with CAM-Macau International Airport Company Ltd. and Air Macau later to ask for their support in broadcasting the videos on the electronic screens at the airport and on the aircraft.
