The Macao Museum of Art (MAM), under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, accepts applications for its Autumn Art Courses online and on-site from 23 September to 3 October. The admission list will be announced on 6 October. A total of 21 courses and workshops will be held by means of a step-by-step approach, covering different aspects from the use of media to topic-based artwork creation, allowing the participants to easily find their way into the realm of art creation and explore the world of art.
The Autumn Art Courses aim to offer a diverse artistic experience to the public in a leisurely atmosphere, featuring “Realm of Fantasy – Children’s Creative Workshop” and “Acrylic Painting on Paper Egg Cartons – Parent-Child Creative Workshop”, intended for children aged 5-10 years, allowing them to create artworks while enjoying their playtime at MAM. The courses offered for participants aged 16 years or above cover special types of art forms such as purple clay teapot production, landscape sketching, documentary photography, western calligraphy and wood carving, as well as classes on abstract, flower and portrait painting.
Several creative and practical courses on printmaking and book production are also available, including “Introduction to Printmaking and the Art Market for Prints”, “Bookbinding Art and Presentation”, “Woodblock Printmaking with Water-Based Inks for Beginners”, “Printmaking and Making of Picture Books” and “Workshop on Printmaking on Ceramics”. The candidates can choose their preferred courses according to their personal interests and admission will be determined by drawing lots.
Interested parties can register for the Autumn Art Courses through MAM’s webpage at www.mam.gov.mo or submit the application form at MAM’s reception counter, Macao Central Library, Ilha Verde Library, Wong Ieng Kuan Library in Areia Preta Urban Park or Taipa Library. Application forms can be downloaded at MAM’s website or obtained at the above-mentioned locations. Discounts are available for teachers and Friends of MAM.
