The Monetary Authority of Macao Concludes Exchange Activities with Students of Tertiary Institutes

AMCM conducted a series of interactive briefing sessions for local tertiary students in economics or finance-related disciplines

To facilitate young people’s knowledge on the local financial market, the Monetary Authority of Macao (AMCM) conducted a series of interactive briefing sessions on its financial statistics and research for local tertiary students in economics or finance-related disciplines.

The AMCM visited the University of Macau, the City University of Macau, the Macau University of Science and Technology respectively in April, May and October 2017, holding briefing sessions on “Research and Statistics of the Monetary Authority of Macao”. Furthermore, the AMCM hosted a briefing session on “Overview of Macao’s Monetary and Financial System” for the University of Saint Joseph (Macao) in November 2017. The main objectives of these activities were to brief relevant tertiary students about the responsibilities and routine tasks of the AMCM, including compilation of official financial statistics and publication of economic research; and how to access the most updated financial information of Macao from the AMCM’s official website and WeChat account. During the interactive sections, discussions were comprehensive with active participation of teaching staff and students, who were particularly interested in the featured finance and future development of Macao’s financial industry.

Through continuously organising such activities, the AMCM expects to establish communication channels with relevant young professionals, deepening their understanding of Macao’s economic and financial situation and rendering ways to obtain local financial market information in order to equip them for joining the financial industry in the future.
