FSS Calls on Old-Age and Disability Pension Beneficiaries to Provide the Proof of Life by the End of This Month

The Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao) said that about 108,000 old-age and disability pension beneficiaries must provide the proof of life this year, of which about 103,000 have already completed the formalities, accounting for 95% of the total. Beneficiaries who have not yet gone through the formalities should do it as soon as possible; otherwise, the related benefit will be suspended from April onwards.

In accordance with the law, the old-age and disability pension beneficiaries must provide the proof of life every year; otherwise, the related benefit will be suspended. Therefore, beneficiaries who have not yet provided the proof of life this year should bring along their personal Macao SAR Resident ID Cards as soon as possible, and provide the proof of life using the self-service machines set up at 43 locations in Macao, or go to the temporary office of the FSS at Tap Seac or Areia Preta Service Centre of the Macao SAR (Area of Social Security and Employment) to provide the proof of life in person.

If a beneficiary is unable to provide the proof of life in person due to illness, he/she may ask someone to submit on his/her behalf the proof issued by a hospital, residential care home or registered medical practitioner.

Beneficiaries residing outside Macao can submit the required documents to the FSS by mail or through a representative. Beneficiaries currently residing in Guangdong Province may bring along their valid Macao SAR Resident ID Cards and go to a social insurance agency at all levels in the province to apply for the Proof of Life Verification Form which is to be submitted to the FSS as the proof of life.
