Statistics of Investment Residency Applications in 2017


In 2017, a total of 308 applications for temporary residency for managerial personnel, technical and professional qualification holders were received by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) (an increase of 3 compared with last year), 23 applications for major investment and major investment plans (a decrease of 1 compared with last year), representing 93.05% and 6.95% of the total of 331 new applications in 2017. Approved cases for managerial personnel, technical and professional qualification holders amounted to 231 (an increase of 132 compared with last year), involving sectors such as education, hotel and tourist complex, gaming, construction and finance. There were a total of 10 approved applications for major investment and major investment plans, marking an increase of 6 as compared with last year.
